Our most special and beloved Bruce Edwin Peterson passed away April 1, 2025. Dad perplexed and enlivened everyone he engaged in conversation. He was a philosopher, a true thinker, with an insatiable curiosity for the human condition. Dad was everything in his lifetime: spear fisherman, printing press owner/operator, Syracuse University swimmer, bartender, Russian language translator, Vietnam Vet, helicopter pilot, US Customs Broker, corporate executive, painter, yacht broker, captain (Eddy), actor, prolific reader, crossword puzzler, friend, son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. To know him was to get small taste of the essence of life. He was full to the brim with both contentment and difficulty, teeming with vigor. The world has lost a real one and our hearts are shattered, but we’re thankful for the unforgettable memories and the deep love we shared.
Bruce was born in Seattle, WA to father Edwin Peterson (Hallock, MN) and Betty Belle Brewer (Auburn, WA). He is survived by his son, Lyle Peterson (Kami), daughter, Karla Sjostrom (Ben), former spouse, Lucy Peterson and grandchildren, Zachary (20), Alexandra (18), Soren (10) and Bo (8). Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Peterson (1983), Betty Belle Brewer (1997) and little brother Bryan Kale Peterson (2018).
Do no harm. Leave no trace. Only go straight. Don’t know. Try, try, try.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
