On September 14, 2024, loving father, husband, and grandpa, Bruce A. Perkins, went home to be with Jesus, passing peacefully in his sleep after battling for three years with Lewy body dementia and Parkinson’s disease. Bruce will always be remembered as a caring, loving, and hard-working man.
Bruce was born on September 21, 1954, in St. Paul, MN, to Lowell and Hila (Schad) Perkins. He graduated from high school in Pequot Lakes, MN, in 1972. He worked as a small engine repair mechanic for 50 years and owned Bruce Perkins Marine and Small Engine Repair in Crosslake before being diagnosed in 2021.
Bruce married Kathy Stewart on July 7, 1985. They have four daughters, Alicia (Quincy) Finch, Amanda (Adam) Bowman, Ashlee (Casey) Kopilchak, and Allison (Jordan) Perkins. Bruce cared deeply for his grandchildren, Tyree, Aaliyah, Korbin, Khia, Grace, Alek, Ganon, Deklan, and Isabelle.
He is survived by his sisters, Audrey Perkins and Rebecca (Dan) Webb; brother, Robert (Kim) Perkins; nieces, Chelsey and Brittany; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many loving friends and past customers.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Lowell; mother, Hila; stepmother, Julia; and brother, Malcolm.
We will always cherish our memories with him. Bruce is perfect now – he has been made whole in Jesus.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Lakes Area Church of Christ, Baxter, MN.
