Bruce Brunes

Bruce Brunes, age 68, of Jenkins, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012, while skiing on his property. He was born on November 17th, 1943, to James and Allison (Arvig) Brunes. Bruce was born in, and grew up in Pequot Lakes, and graduated from Pequot Lakes High School. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Pine River native, Barbara Rhoades, in June of 1962 while serving in the Air Force in Aurora, Colorado.

During his life, Bruce worked most notably at Arvig Telephone Company in Pequot Lakes. He was a plant supervisor at Arvig Telephone Company as well as manager of Interlake Cablevision.

He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with his numerous friends and family.

Buce will be greatly missed and is lovingly survived by his wife, Barbara Brunes; parents, Jim and Allison Brunes; children: Tammi (Leo) Walton, Randy (Theresa) Brunes, Kim (Jerry) Seelye; grandchildren: Jase (Courtney) Walton, Kyle Walton, Whitney Brunes, Zack Brunes, Scott Seelye, Chelsea Walton; siblings: Gary Brunes, Diane Brunes, Galeen (Tom) Royce, Patty (Roger) Kline, Eric Brunes; brothers-in-law: Jerry (Connie) Rhoades, Dick (Magg) Rhoades; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by nephews, Jericho Royce and Jeremy Brunes.

Services will be 1 PM on Thursday, March 8, at Pequot Lakes Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Jenkins Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM, at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
