Bruce Bengtson

Bruce William Bengtson, 61, of Pequot Lakes, passed away November 11, 2011, at his home in rural Pequot Lakes, surrounded by his family. He was born June 5, 1950, to Bill and Renata Bengtson (Pohl) in Brainerd, MN. He and his wife Barb were married August 24, 1974. They had two children, Matthew (Jolene), Ryan (Cara), and four cherished grandchildren, Halie, Molly, Levi, and Emma. He lived in rural Pequot Lakes for most of his life. He was a member of Pequot Legion and served in the National Guard.

He worked for Gambles Hardware, Western Electric, US West, and Qwest Communications. He retired in 2007, after 35 years of service and was currently working part time for Century Link. He volunteered as a youth baseball coach, and served on the cemetery board for his church. He also enjoyed working on his family farm, and spending special times with his grandchildren, wife, and helping out his boys and their wives on their many special projects.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and other family. He is survived by his wife of 37 years; two sons; four grandchildren; siblings: Gayle Jaben, Rodney (Mona) Bengtson, Eric Bengtson, Kathy Malloy, David (Kathy) Munson, Debbie (Steve) Troxler, Danelle (Dave) Johnson; step mother Shirley Gorman; and many other cherished family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, November 17, at Gloria Dei Church, Pequot Lakes. Visitation from 5-7 PM, Wednesday, at Kline Funeral Home in Pequot Lakes, and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes.
