Brian Tweed

Brian John Tweed, age 64, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2012, surrounded by many loved ones after a courageous 12-year battle with colon cancer.

Brian was born March 27, 1948 in Pequot Lakes, MN, the son of Lester and Vonnie (Holley) Tweed. Brian graduated from Pequot Lakes High School in 1966, lettering in many sports. Brian enlisted into the U.S. Navy in 1967, serving during the Vietnam War on USS Haleakala. Upon his return, Brian met and married his wife of 40 years, Teri Topp. They lived their entire married life together in Pequot.

Brian and his brother, Gary, took over Pequot Oil from their father in 1971, which they owned and operated until 1994. After the sale of their gas station, Brian worked for 13 years for UBC Lumber in Pequot.

Brian enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping up at "The Lake", feeding all of the wildlife in his yard, going on drives with his loyal friend, Murphy, and spending time with his grandkids that he loved dearly. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

Brian is survived by his devoted wife Teri; children Heidi (Rick), Heather (Todd), and Hans; his beautiful grandchildren Piepre, Zaynie, Izaak, and Zofia. His mother, Vonnie Tweed, brother Gary (Patricia) Tweed, sister, Shari (Gaynard) Brown and by many nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Tweed, infant brother, Jerry, and his in-laws, Leslie and Bette Topp.

A casual celebration of life will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday December 6, 2012, at Kline Funeral Home in Pequot Lakes with visitation 1 hour prior. Military Honors to follow at Our Savior's Cemetery in Pequot Lakes.

Brian will be dearly missed by all who know and love him.
