Brenda Voeltz-Crego

Brenda Voeltz-Crego, age 46, of Minneapolis, formerly of Staples, passed away at her home on Friday, October 9th. A funeral service is planned for Friday, October 16, at 1:00 PM, at the Staples United Methodist Church with a visitation beginning at 11:00. Burial will be at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.

Brenda was born on March 17, 1963, in Minneapolis, to Manuel and Ruth (Geiger) Voeltz. Brenda attended school in Staples, graduating with honors in 1981. While in high School she was very active in music, played piano for the choir, and worked at Perrys Ben Franklin Store. After high school she moved to Minneapolis to attend the University of Minnesota.

Brenda loved to travel, play piano, volunteer at nursing homes. She was very proud of her house and yard, enjoyed flower gardening, and interior painting. She loved her pets and taking walks. Brenda was always smiling.

Brenda is survived by her parents, MW and Ruth Voeltz of Staples; brother Tim (JoAnn) of Staples; aunts and uncles, Ivan and Janice Voeltz, Doug and Diane Geiger, Dale VanWey, Gordon and Jean Voeltz, Carol Thorsfeldt-Geiger, and Dennis and Wilma Johnson; 23 cousins; and many special friends and co-workers. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; uncles, Russ and Howard; aunts, Grace and Eveleyn; two cousins; and her best friend Ben.
