Brad Fossum

Brad Fossum, 68, of Pillager, MN passed away unexpectedly at home on October 7, 2024. Private family services will be held. 

Brad was born in Minneapolis on April 13, 1956, and raised by his parents Clayton and Lillian (Anderson) Fossum in Willmar, MN. Brad married Laurie Ditmarson in Spicer, MN in 1975 and made their home in Willmar. Brad became a volunteer with the Willmar Fire Department where he provided Scuba Recovery and Emergency Response Services for 11 years. He worked for the State of Minnesota as a Probation Parole Officer. 

Brad returned to college as a non-traditional student to earn his degree in Criminal Justice. He started his career with the Department of Corrections impacting many.

Brad lived in the Pillager area for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting birds and deer, loved the outdoors, and was proud to be a Boy Scout Leader. Above all, Brad loved his family dearly. 

Grateful for sharing Brad’s life are his wife of 49 years, Laurie, children; Leah (Jeff) Ball and Joshua (Haley) Fossum, grandchildren Isaiah and Carter, and four sisters. 

Brad is preceded in death by his parents.
