Boyd Bowdish Jr.

Boyd Wilder Bowdish, Jr., age 81, of Longville, MN passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be at a later date.

Boyd Wilder Bowdish was born June 5, 1936 in Shakopee, to Boyd and Mary (Turner) Bowdish. He was married to Grace Hanson in Eau Claire, WI on June 28, 1958. The couple enjoyed 59 wonderful years together and were blessed with two sons. Boyd had a successful career as a computer analyst, he also served in the US Army Reserve. Boyd was a sophisticated builder of model airplanes. He participated actively in the National Academy of Model Aeronautics, he enjoyed competition flying and held a leadership role in the Academy. He was a patron of the arts, enjoying theater and music.

Boyd is survived by his loving wife, Grace; his children, Boyd Wilder Bowdish III, Las Gatos, CA, and Douglas J. Bowdish (Lisa), Plymouth, MN, grandchildren, Nathaniel Wilder Bowdish, Katherine J Bowdish-Neary (John), and Cory M. Bowdish, and a great-grandchild, Ashlyn Grace Neary, four siblings, Bonnie Casber, Bernice VanNostrand, Terry Bowdish (Ann), and Patty Theis (Marvin), sister-in-law, Jean Bowdish.
