Bonnie Engen, 97, of Pequot Lakes, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010, at Heritage House in Pequot Lakes, where she received loving care during her battle with Alzheimers disease. A memorial service and celebration of Bonnies life will take place in the spring of 2010. Please, no memorials or flowers. Bonnie was born August 22, 1912 in Faribault, MN, the daughter of the late Thomas and Charlotte (Stepanek) Mohan. She was married to Howard Alfred Engen on July 3, 1934. Bonnie had a long and wonderful life. She enjoyed the sun, the woods, the beaches of Florida, and most of all, her family. Her family was all blessed to have been part of her life. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents; her beloved step-father, Charles Daulson; her sister, Margaret Mohan Daugherty; her son, James Roger Engen; and her daughter-in-law, Aloha Engen. She is survived by her son, Donald (Deanna) Engen, of Crosslake; grandchildren, Mark (Carol) Engen, of Winona, Steven (Heidi) Engen, of Crosslake, Matthew (Julie) Engen, of Fargo, ND, Brian (Julie) Engen, of Crosslake, Donald (Cindy) Engen, of Deerwood, Hartwick (LeAnn) Engen, of Bemidji, and Amber (Russ) Schlegel, of Coon Rapids; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
