Bonnie Bellos

Bonnie Kay Bellos passed away peacefully at her home on December 24, 2017 at the age of 67 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on December 15, 1950 in Buffalo Center, Iowa to Virgil and Lorraine Krosch. Bonnie graduated from Cooper High School in 1969.

While working for Target in Crystal, Minnesota she met Michael Bellos. Mike and Bonnie were married on July 17, 1971 at St. James Lutheran Church in Crystal, Minnesota. After spending several years in the metro area, Mike and Bonnie along with their three children relocated to the Brainerd Lakes area.

She returned to school in1988. In May, 1991, she graduated side by side with Mike from St Cloud State University with a double major in history and geography.

After working several years in the Brainerd area, she became the Finance Director at the Brainerd YMCA. She retired from the YMCA in 2008.

Bonnie’s main passion was quilting for her family. Bonnie was also an excellent cook and an avid baker along with many other hobbies.

Bonnie was an experienced traveler while focusing on famous historical sites. Her favorite site she visited was a guided tour of the Normandy coastline in France.

She is survived by her husband Mike of 46 years and her three children Wendy and (Dan) Moore of Baxter, Minnesota, Traci and (Chris) Staples of Oak Grove, Minnesota and Danny and (Katie) Bellos of Baxter, Minnesota. Bonnie will be deeply missed by her 10 beloved grandchildren Corbin, Marlee, Carson, Whitlee and Maloree (Moore), Erin, Addison and Emery (Staples) and Lauren and Allison (Bellos).

She is also survived by her mother Lorraine Krosch of Pillager, Minnesota and sister Janet Krosch of New Hope, Minnesota.

She is preceded in death by her father Virgil Krosch.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, Minnesota from 4:00pm -7:00pm on Friday, December 29, 2017. Her funeral will be at 11:00am on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Baxter, Minnesota with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Burial at the State Military Cemetery by Camp Ripley will be at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
