Blanche Edens

Blanche Edens, age 89, of Pine River, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Essentia St. Joseph's Medical Center, Brainerd. She was born in Rock Island, IL, to August and Bertha Wilkens on June 10, 1922.

She was a member of the Eastern Star, Eradelphian Club, Pine River Legion Auxiliary and First Lutheran Church, Pine River.

Blanche is survived by her children: Karen Edens, Larry Edens (Judy), Kristine Kayser (Dan); grandsons: Erik Stolberg (Kim), Jeremy Burns (Amanda), Jason Edens (BJ Allen), Ryan Burns; great grandchildren: Ben, Abby, Leo, Lily, Ian; siblings: Walter Wilkens, Donald Wilkens (Lois), Wayne Wilkens (Jean), William Wilkens (Marjorie), Shirley Miller (Dennis), Anita McClure; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; and sisters: Mary Lou Wilkens, Mildred Dryoel, Betty Hilderbrand, Dorothy Beattie; and brother, Kenneth Wilkens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Lutheran Church of Pine River or the First Lutheran Dorcas Circle.

Services will be 11 AM on Tuesday, April 10, at First Lutheran Church, Pine River, with Pastor Bonnie Lomen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
