Bill Turpin, 54, of Sylvan Township, died Monday, August 13, 2007. Services are scheduled for 4 PM, Friday, August 17 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
William Nelson Turpin was born April 5, 1953 in Naytahwaush, MN, the son of William and Phyllis (Bunker) Turpin. He graduated from Mahnomen High School and enlisted in the US Army. As a Recon Specialist, Bill was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for service to his country. Following his honorable discharge, Bill went to work for Viking Gas and was a senior technician. Bill worked at Viking Gas for over 20 years. On April 4, 1987, Bill was united in marriage to Linda Moody in Milaca.

Bill was an obsessive Packer fan. He enjoyed music and playing the guitar. With his dad, he enjoyed racing and repairing snowmobiles, as well as playing in a band together with his father. Bill was a practical joker and loved to tell jokes and make others laugh. He appreciated any time he could spend around a bonfire and he loved to go boating with Linda and Katie.

Bill will be missed by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Katie Turpin, of Pillager, MN; his son, Jamie Turpin, of Borup, MN; his daughter, Ashley Scott, of Naytahwaush, MN; his mom, Phyllis; his sisters, Bev Turner, Gail Turpin, Cheryl Gettel, Corrine Bellefueille, Teri Gieseke, and Lori Bailey; four grandchildren, Taija Turpin, Acacia Scott, Amaija Kier, and Aliya Kier. Bill was preceded in death by his father.
