Bill Coffman, age 87, of Crosslake, died December 4, 2003 at his home. Bill was born February 13, 1916 in Minneapolis to the late Harry & Florence (Motzko) Coffman. He graduated from Washburn High School then the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis with a degree in Architecture. He was a home builder. He was married to Meredith Rowland, following their marriage they moved to Florida where he was a land developer. After his wife?s death in 1969, he continued to live in Florida and spent his summers in the Crosslake area. He was united in marriage to Barbara Kogler-Schliek on September 24, 1984 in West St. Paul. He also owned a travel agency. They moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1994 and lived there until moving to Crosslake in 1999. He was a past president of the National Home Builders Association. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Memorials are preferred to, Crosslake Lutheran Church.
Bill is survived by his wife Barbara; daughters, Ann (Mike) Miller of Coconut Creek, Florida, Carol (Paul) Fox of Maple Grove; a son William (Carol) Coffman Jr. of Eden Prairie; step-daughters, Susie (Jeff) Lande of Sartell, Sharon (Kevin) Thorson of Breezy Point, Robyn (Lance) Bragstad of Pequot Lakes; a step-son, David (Vicki) Schliek of Baxter; 2 brothers Robert Coffman of Richfield, Roger (Dorothy) Coffman of Ideal Corners; 20 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Preceded in death by his first wife Meredith.
Private memorial services will be held Saturday, December 6 at 1 PM at Crosslake Lutheran Church with Reverend Mark Anderson officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake.
