Beverly Sears Moses, 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 19, at the CRMC Care Center. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, at Park United Methodist Church with visitation starting two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Brainerd.
Bev was born on May 15, 1928, in Bemidji, MN, to Eugene and Hazel (Johnson) Martin. They moved to Brainerd when she was a young child. She graduated from Washington High School in 1945. She married Darrell Sears in 1948. They lived in North Saint Paul while Darrell attended law school, then moved back to Brainerd in 1954 to raise their family. She was a homemaker for many years and went to work at Darrell’s law office when the kids were older. The family enjoyed several memorable road trips out west.
Bev was a devoted mother to her children and an active member of her church. She was a wonderful cook and baker who was always sharing homemade treats with neighbors and friends. She was quick to volunteer in various capacities in the community. In later years she rekindled her passion for dancing and singing as a charter member of the Geritol Frolics, took dance lessons, and belonged to a number of dance groups. She loved to read, grow beautiful flowers, and play cards and games. She was her family’s biggest fan, attending countless piano recitals and band and choir concerts. She loved her pets, and there were many over the years.
In 2002 Bev married Larry Moses at The Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, Iowa. They enjoyed 20 years together, most notably going dancing many times a week and traveling. They also carried on the tradition of being members of the Geritol Frolics.
Bev will be greatly missed by her husband Larry, daughters Linda (Keith) Cannon, Pam Shelburne, Kim (Cary Berning) Finch, son Jim (Val) Sears, stepsons Jerry Moses, David (Jenny) Moses, Curt (Sarah) Moses, James (Rawnie) Moses, 17 grandchildren and step-grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husband Darrell, sons-in-law Dan Malloy and Gary Shelburne and stepson Tim Moses.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
