Beverly Jacobson

Beverly Jacobson, 78, of Nisswa, MN died Monday, December 7, 2015 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. A Memorial Service for Beverly will be 3:00PM, Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation one hour prior to services.

Bev was born June 19, 1937 to Olaf and Kathleen (Shea) Gilbertson in Pelican Rapids, MN. She graduated from Pelican Rapids High School and went on to attend NW Med Tech in Minneapolis, MN. Beverly worked as a Med Tech in Mitchell, SD for a year and then at Mounds Park Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Beverly was united in marriage to Dennis Jacobson on January 5, 1958 in Erhard, MN. They lived in East St. Paul for six months and then they moved to Minneapolis where she worked for Gamble Robinson. They lived in Bloomington for a few years and then in 1965, they moved to Excelsior where Beverly worked as a mail carrier until she retired in 1996. They bought the farm across the road, where they had boarded a horse. After purchasing the farm, they expanded the barn, adding four additional stalls for horses In July of 1995, they bought a condo on Gull, moving up the following spring. In 2000, they bought a house in Arizona, which they sold in 2004 and bought a condo. After selling the farm, they kept two horses (Ashquar and Lady), which they boarded at Wulf's Arabians in Brainerd. Lady's foal, Sprout, is still at Wulf's. Bev also enjoyed knitting, spending many hours at Utrinkets in downtown Brainerd and knitting caps for the cancer center at St. Joseph's Hospital in Brainerd.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Dennis Jacobson; son, Derek (Arti) Jacobson of Centennial, Co; daughter, Deidre (Jim) Ufford of Rogers, MN; six grandchildren, Hannah, Shea, Regin, Brianna, Matthew and Jacob; siblings, Robert Gilbertson of Orono, MN, Dale (Phyllis) Gilbertson of Erhard, MN, Dalyce (Orrie) Leabo of Underwood, MN, Deanna (John) Jorgenson of Apple Valley, MN; sister in law, Vonnie Gilbertson of Fergus Falls, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olaf and Kathleen Gilbertson; brother, Norris Gilbertson and sister in law, Pat Gilbertson. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN. In lieu of flowers memorials are preffered to St. Josephs/Essentia Health System Hospital in Brainerd, MN, to their foundation in helping with cancer research.
