Beulah L. Jaschke, 95, of Cushing, passed away at her home on Sunday, April 28, 2019. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 3, 2019 at St. James Catholic Church in Randall. Family and friends are invited to gather Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the church as well as one hour prior to Mass on Friday. Interment will take place at St. James Catholic Cemetery.
Beulah was born March 20, 1924, in Cushing Township, the daughter of Lester and Anna (Bennett) Marvetz. After graduating from high school, she went to Seattle where she packed parachutes for bombs used in WWII. She returned to Minnesota and married Matthew Jaschke. They lived on their farm until his death in 1974. Beulah then moved to Washington and cared for her elderly parents for five years. She again returned to Minnesota and began working for Unisys in the cafeteria. She worked at a resort on the Matanuska Glacier in Alaska before again making the move to Minneapolis where she worked for 19 years as care giver for the elderly. Upon retirement, she settled into her home on Eagle Court in Randall to be closer to her family and friends. She has enjoyed the last six years making her home at Lakes Hill Elderlycare.
Beulah loved to sew, embroider, cook and read. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed her trips to the West Coast, New Brunswick, Florida and everything in between.
She will be missed by her children, Gayle Schmidt, of Bend, OR, Paul Jaschke, of Bend, OR and Dennis Jaschke, of Randall; grandchildren, Maria Sundaram, Jason Jaschke, Debbue Jaschke, Bobby Jaschke, and Brad Studanski; nine great-grandchildren; and siblings, Nellie Clemons, of WA and Audrey Arnott, of NV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Matt; daughter, Gladys; parents; and siblings, Harold Marvetz, Lyle Marvetz, and Jessie Marvetz.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or American Heart Association.
