Betty A. (Harris) Waldron, passed away on September 5, 2015 at the age of 96. Betty was born January 17, 1919, in Minneapolis and most recently lived in Outing and Pine River, MN.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Iva I. Harris; father, H. Daniel Harris; sisters, Isabelle Busby and Jean Tucker; and brother, Fred Harris.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Dee Otto; sons, Edward and Ray Waldron; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
In 1943 Betty joined the Army Nurse Corps and served as a 1st Lieutenant during the invasion of Normandy and the German campaign of WWII. She was awarded 3 bronze stars. In 1949 she went to work at St. Barnabas Hospital, now HCMC, where she became the medical surgical supervisor in charge of all medical and surgical stations in the hospital. She retired as the night supervisor in 1980.
A celebration of Betty's life will be held at 11 AM Saturday, September 26, at the Good Samaritan Society, 8100 Medicine Lake Rd, New Hope MN (763)544-4171.
