Betty Peppel

Betty Kathleen Peppel, age 90, was born to Carl and Opal Smedberg of Kenmare, ND, on November 18, 1925. Betty passed away on March 17, 2016, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Brainerd, MN with her family at her side. Betty married Hans Herbert Peppel Sr. and had five children; Frank, Mark, Steve, John, and Hans Jr..

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hans, elder brother, John W. Smedberg; elder sister, Joyce A. Rideout, and foster brother, Jerry Watschke.

Betty is survived by her five children; two foster sisters, Nina Martin and Linda Sise; four grandchildren, Ashley, Rachel, Scott, and Jennifer; four great grandchildren, Dakota, Ryan, Sara, and Tyler; two nephews, Lowell and Ron; one niece, Kathleen; grand nieces, Becca and Tirza; and grand nephew, Luke.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Hackensack Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM with the service starting at 11:00AM. Following the service a light lunch will be provided in the fellowship hall, then ending with a short graveside service in the Hill Crest Cemetery in Hackensack. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Pequot Lakes, MN.
