Betty Killian

Betty E. Killian, 58, of Staples passed away on Friday, March 6th 2009 at St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, March 10th at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Staples, with Father Scott Wittkup officiating. Visitation will be on Monday night, 5 to 8 p.m. at Brenny Funeral Chapel of Staples, with Parrish Prayers at 7:30 p.m., and visitation one hour prior to services, at church. Interment will be at Evergreen Hills Cemetery in Staples.
Betty Elaine Killian was born to Michael and Florence (Schilts) Kmetz on September 7th 1950, in Ashland, Wisconsin. The family moved to Motley, Minnesota. She married Larry Killian on September 17th 1966 in Staples. Betty and Larry owned and operated Killian Sanitation for over 43 years. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids.

She is survived by her husband Larry; 3 daughters, Debbie (Dennis) Goblirsch of Redwood Falls, MN, Darlene (Ron) Hoemberg of Staples, and Carrie Killian of Motley; 5 grandchildren, Trevor, Brandon, and Cody Hoemberg, and Cassandra and Matthew Bennett; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Raymond (Emily) Kmetz of New Hope, MN, Vernon Kmetz of Bloomington, MN, and Marvin (Nancy) Kmetz of St. Michael, MN; 2 sisters Geri Sanz of St. Paul, MN and Delores (Clarence) Juhnke of Fort Ranson, ND; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother Elsie Kmetz; and sisters Barbara and Donna.
