Betty DeChaine

Betty Louise DeChaine, age 90, of Brainerd, MN passed away on April 14, 2016 at her home in Brainerd. Betty was born to John and Estella (Wood) Brooks on September 26, 1925 and grew up in Maywood, Illinois. Betty married Leo DeChaine and together they had two children. Leo died in 1985. Later in life, Betty and Hubert Alt were companions and did many things together. Hubert died in 2015. Betty enjoyed fishing, traveling and cooking. She always wanted to know where the fish were biting. She, along with either Leo or Hubert, traveled to many places including Europe and South America.

Betty is survived by her children, Keith (Anna) DeChaine of Deerwood, MN and Peggy (Bob) Biernat of Shoreview, MN; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by John Brooks, father; Estella (Wood) Brooks, mother; her husband, Leo, and friend, Hubert Alt.

Services for Betty will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd, MN, with Pastor Justin Halbersma officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the church service and at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter on Monday, April 18, 2016 from 5-7PM. Betty DeChaine will be fondly remembered and missed by many friends and relatives. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
