Bettie Miller

Bettie Louise Miller, age 88, of Crosslake, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale. She was born to Louis and Elizabeth Karzis on December 8, 1927, in Detroit, MI. Bettie was raised and attended school in Chicago, IL, graduating from Alvernia High School. She went on to attend Siena Heights College and the American Acadamy of Arts then taught elementary art for 10 years. Bettie married Charles Miller on June 26, 1948, and they moved to Crosslake in 1978. Bettie then began teaching Community Ed Art classes, specializing in calligraphy. She also worked in real estate for 10 years. Bettie enjoyed reading, sewing, arts and crafts. She joined Immaculate Heart Catholic Church and eventually ran craft sales to raise funds for the new church.

Bettie was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her daughters: Regina Kalbach (Steve), Nancy Hathaway (Dale), Suzanne Miller, Mary Fraser (Tony), Charlene Nelson; sister, Harriet Potempa (Ron); 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM on Tuesday, June 21, at Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, Crosslake. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Pinewood Cemetery, Crosslake.
