Bernice Robideaux, age 90, of Pine River, passed away at her home on January 15, 2008, after a long fight with cancer. Bernice was born on September 11, 1917 in Jacksonville, Iowa to Earnest and Christine (Jorgensen) Petersen. Her parents moved the family to Minnesota when she was 2 ½ years old. She attended the Blind Lake and Pine River Schools. Bernice married Erwin Robideaux in 1935. To this union, two sons were born, Dennis and Darrell. She lived most of her life in Blind Lake, with the exception of living in Little Fork, Hibbing and Wilpin, MN. After her husband's death, she and her two sons moved to Blind Lake, where she resided until her death. She was a member of the Blind Lake Tabernacle for over 50 years and taught Sunday School there for 30 years.
Bernice is survived by her son, Dennis, Blind Lake; sister, LuJean Erickson, Blind Lake; three grandchildren: Clark (Andrea) Robideaux, Plymouth, MN, Renee' (Matt) Fabian, Breezy Point, and Lynn (Bob) Wick, Pequot Lakes; six great grandchildren: Reid and Sara Robideaux, Matthew, Bryce and Jessica Fabian, and Cassidy Wick; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Erwin, son, Darrell, brother, Roy Petersen, and sister, Rose Duke.
Services will be 11 AM on Saturday, January 19, at The Church of the Nazarene in Backus. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Pine River. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 PM at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
