Bernice "Bea" Hanson, 92, Baxter died peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at her home. Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brainerd, MN. Private Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN on Monday, April 8, 2013. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00PM on Friday, April 5th at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
Bernice was born on December 14, 1920 in Brainerd, MN the daughter of Swan Harold Nelson and Josephine Emily Swanson. She was united in marriage to Raymond M. Hanson on May 23, 1944 in Brainerd, MN. They moved to their home in Baxter in 1957. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she and family had belonged their whole lives. She enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and playing cards with friends. She was filled with the Holy Spirit, loved her church, family, friends, and neighbors unconditionally. She was a lady with great wisdom and loved to give friendly advice. Bernice never complained and always looked for the positive in every situation. She was loving, kind, funny, a wonderful mother/grandmother/and sister. Everybody loved her!
Bernice is survived by her daughter, Lori Hanson Falzarano, FL; son, Matthew R. Hanson and his wife, Dawn Musick, of Nisswa; two grandsons, Matthew D. Falzarano and Nelson J. Falzarano also from FL; and brother, Lorne R. Nelson of Minneapolis, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Swan and Josephine; husband, Raymond; sister, Alice Nelson Converse; and brother, Dr. Glen H. Nelson.
Memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brainerd, MN or Good Samaritan Society-Home Care and Hospice, in Nisswa, MN. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
