Bernard Dalbec, 84, of Breezy Point, MN died Friday, October 5, 2018 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial for Bernard will be 11:00AM, Saturday, October 13, 2018 at St. Alice Catholic Church in Pequot Lakes, MN with Fr. Michael Patullo officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment with Military Honors will be 1:00PM, Monday October 15th at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.

Bernard was born at home in Waverly, MN, February 8, 1934, the oldest of eight children to Henry and Lucienne (Boisvert) Dalbec. He enlisted in the US Air Force during his senior year at Buffalo High School. He was honorably discharged after completing four years of service in 1956. Bernard was united in marriage to Arlene Anderson on July 19, 1958 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Minneapolis. On July 19, 2018 they celebrated 60 years of marriage with their children. In 1960, Bernard was accepted into the Bricklayers Apprentice program. He became a journeyman bricklayer and stone mason. In 1976, he started his own business under the name of Dalco Concrete and Masonry Inc., retiring in 1995 and passing on the business to his son. Upon retiring, they moved to Pequot Lakes, MN and then to Breezy Point, where they reside at the present time. Bernard loved hunting, fishing, golf, snowmobile racing, woodworking, his German Shorthair dogs and the Minnesota Twins. He loved his children and grandchildren and family gatherings.

Bernard is survived by his wife, Arlene of Breezy Point, MN; four children, Debra Dalbec of Pequot Lakes, MN, Curt (Emily) Dalbec of Medina, MN, Rodney Dalbec of Bloomington, MN, Lisa (Chris) Whitney of Lakeshore, MN; eight grandchildren, Andrew, Carter, Dane, Delaney, Ashely D., Blake, Christopher, Ashley W.; siblings, Carol (Dick) Hogan of Maple Lake, MN, Corliss Johnson of Cold Spring, MN, Gordon (Woyle) Dalbec of Olympia, WA, Kevin Dalbec of Buffalo, MN; and nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lucienne Dalbec; siblings, Bruce Dalbec, Barrie Dalbec and Gretchen Dalbec. Memorials are preferred to donor's choice. Services have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Pequot Lakes, MN.
