Beau Hohertz

July 1, 2021 — April 6, 2022

July 1st , 2021 -April 6th 2022 (9 months, 5 days)

Born on the first day of July, Beau Michael Hohertz brought a light and joy into this world and his family that no one had known before.

He was calm and content with big, bright, blue eyes.

Beau was lovingly welcomed into the arms of his mom and dad. Beau was the son of Katelin Michelle (Cranny) Hohertz and Zachery Richard Hohertz of Merrifield, MN. He was 7lb 15oz and 21.5 inches at birth and 9 months old when he was welcomed into heaven.

Beau was a happy boy, loved so deeply by his parents and his favorite big sister, Baylor Rae. He made his family and friends smile and they loved him too. He took his first pontoon ride on the 4th of July at just 3 days old. He grew big and strong and made many memories in his short time. He was a lover of all he met and a snugly cuddler. The family had just taken a wonderful trip to Florida, Beau loved swimming in the pool, riding on a bike and visiting the ocean. Beau was calm, content, and peaceful.

The moment you met Beau you were in awe and disbelief. You could feel this sweet baby boy’s kindness and love in the depths of your soul. He spent a joyful 9 months on this earth.

“My Brudda Beau.” Baylor always knew where Beau was and what he was doing- and Beau was always watching her. The family’s bedtime routine was very special. Baylor and Beau loved taking a bath, picking out books and pajamas, and playing together. It was a special bonding time each night- and their parents made their world so comfortable, loving, safe and kind.

Beau died after a few hour battle with a sudden GI illness with his mommy and daddy right by his side. Beau’s legacy will live on through the gift of organ and tissue donation. This generous gift of life to honor Beau was made by parents, Katelin and Zach.

We absolutely know that one of the many reasons Beau was here is to teach all of us to be kind, gentle and happy. We also know that family and the celebration of life as a family is the most valuable gift that our Lord has given us.

The ones who will remain behind are mommy Katelin Michelle Hohertz and daddy Zachery Richard Hohertz and his sister Baylor Rae Hohertz.

A cherished grandson, nephew, and cousin his maternal grandparents are Michael “Papa Mike” and Deb Cranny of Merrifield, MN. His paternal grandparents are Mark “Papa Mark” Hohertz, Minnetonka, MN and Christina Vitez, Watertown, MN. His paternal great-grandparents are Zena Vitez, Mound, MN and Richard Hohertz, Minnetonka, MN. He was loved by his little girl cousins Stella and Nellie Books of Brookings, SD. His aunt and uncles, Keli and Peter Books of Brookings, SD and Lou Wickramsinghertz and Nimesh Wickramasinghe of Boulder Creek, CA. Beau was loved by many other close family members and friends.

Beau gave us a lifetime of love with his short time on earth.

He will be greatly missed.

A celebration of Beau’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 12th at 10:30am at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 5064 Co Rd 13, Nisswa, MN 56468. Vicar Michelle Ruen will lead this special time.
