Beatrice Wels

Beatrice Pansey Wels, age 100, of Pine River, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Center, Pine River. She was born September 10, 1907 in Minneapolis to Maude and Frank Allars. As a young girl, she moved with her parents to a resort on Clam Shell Lake near Pequot Lakes. She married William Wels on August 31, 1935, living in Pequot Lakes and operating a restaurant. She also worked at the Brainerd State Hospital as food supervisor for ten years. They moved to Heartland Apartments in Pine River in 1978, where she continued to live until October, 2003, when she entered Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Center. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes.
Beatrice is survived by her nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Ray and Barb Voges; and great nephew and niece, Roger and Ruth Voges.
She was preceded in death by her husband on August 5, 1990.
Services will be 2PM on Saturday, September 6 at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, with Pastor Paul Jensen officiating. Burial will be in Our Savior's Cemetery, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
