Barry Wilcox

Barry Jay Wilcox passed away quietly in his home on August 10, 2019. Funeral services will be at 3PM on Friday, August 16, 2019 at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home in Baxter.  Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Pillager.

Barry was born on January 16, 1962 to Mike and Arlene Wilcox at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. He lived in Columbia Heights and Fridley before moving to Pillager where his journey began. Barry attended Pillager Public School and Staples VoTech for his electrician training. He was a member of the Brainerd Eagles Club Post 287. He was employed in several skilled positions, last of which was at Olson Electric in Walker, MN. Barry loved many sports and was a dedicated Vikings fan. He would watch every game and could tell you every play and anything else that happened during the game. He also liked crossword puzzles, Nascar, going to the casino, camping, bonfires, and rock’n roll. He especially loved to argue with Dad about which was better, Fox or CNN News. He was an avid Trump supporter; Make America Great Again!

Barry is survived and loved by his children Jayme (Tanya) Wilcox of St. Paul MN, John Wilcox of Brainerd MN, David Wilcox of Fridley MN, Andrew (Ashlee) Wilcox of Proctor MN, Timothy (Julie) Wilcox of Moundsview MN, Jaclyn Wilcox of Fridley MN; 11 loving grandchildren who were his pride and joy; his father Marcum (Mike) Wilcox of Pillager whom he lived with the past three years; brothers Brian (Merjem) Wilcox of Brainerd MN, Rick (Linda) Wilcox of Pillager MN and a special nephew Tyler Wilcox; his many friends, especially Jay Rardin, Bob Bennet, Jen Alderman, and Dena Dixon and their families.

Barry is preceded in death by his mother Arlene Wilcox; nephew Nathan Ackerson; grandparents Royal and Doris Wilcox, and Johnny and Valerie Nelson.
