Barbara Wasson

Barbara Wasson, age 61, formerly of Deer River, MN, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013, in Pequot Lakes, MN, after a courageous battle with cancer. A Celebration of her Life will be held this summer, and will be announced at that time.

Barbara Jean Wasson, was born to Russell and Beverly (Anderson) Gibbons on April 16, 1951 in Minneapolis. She grew up in Minneapolis. In her early teens, Barbara's family moved to Brainerd. She graduated from Brainerd High School, with the class of 1969. Barbara was a hair dresser for over 30 years, and had recently worked at River Salon, in Deer River. She enjoyed long walks around Butternut Point, spending time with friends and family, and trips to Mexico.

Barbara is survived by her son, Warren R. (Jessica) Wasson of Deer River, MN; daughter Nicole Wasson of Hartford, WI; and their father, Warren C. Wasson; mother, Beverly Gibbons, of Pequot Lakes, MN; sister Linda (Larry) Horn of Moorpark, CA; brothers Jerry (Diane), Sherman, and Rusty (Jenn), all of Pequot Lakes, Rodger of Breezy Point, MN, Jon of Becker, MN, and Sam (Amanda Schwarzkopf) of Brainerd, MN; and grandchildren Jade Anderson, Warren N. Wasson, and Priscilla June Wasson.

She was preceded in death by her father.
