Barbara (Robertson) Uppgaard completed her earth journey April 8th at the home of her daughter. She was born on January 30, 1924 in Salmon River, Oregon to Ernestine and Henry Robertson. Barb grew up in Minneapolis, graduated from Southwest High School, earned her social work degree at the University of Minnesota, was a member of Chi Omega, and learned her world view of spirituality as a member of Plymouth Congregational Church.
Barbara is survived by Robert, her husband of 59 years; her sister, Caroline; her daughter, Patti Uppgaard; her daughter, Katy (Pete) Flaherty and their sons, Ryan and Sean; her son, Gaynard (Shari) Brown and their children, Lindsay, Shannon, and Molly; her great-grandson, Cole; all of her kids near and far; nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
Thanks for the wonderful December 17, 2005 celebration of the lives and work of Barb and Bob, with friends from the Department of Natural Resources, League of Women Voters, Whitefish Property Owners Association, School District #186, Crow Wing County Board, Lakes Area Medical Development Association, and friends. We love you all.
Barbs family would like to thank all of her dear friends for their love, cooking, driving, shopping, care, and support. Please join us at Manhattan Beach Lodge 2-4 pm on Saturday, April 15, 2006. Memorials are suggested to benefit the community, education, or environment of the lakes area. A private family interment is planned for a future time.
