Barbara Trana

Barbara Trana, 84, of Staples, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 14, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Staples with Rev. Robin Collins officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior. Interment will take place at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.

Barbara Jean was born October 31, 1927 in rural Clarissa, MN, the daughter of Emil and Lydia (Spilker) Modrow. Following her education, she was united in marriage to Thomas Trana on February 16, 1952. The couple made their home in the Staples area where Barbara was a homemaker and raised her family. She enjoyed doing crafts, especially crocheting. She also liked to bake and grow flowers. She treasured the time she was able to spend with her children and grandchildren.

She will be missed by her husband, Tom; children, Amber (Dale) Bartylla, of Hewitt, Kim Trana, of Staples, Debra (Clyde) Mertens, of Staples, Thomas (Kathleen) Trana, of Motley, and Dennis (Mona) Trana, of Staples; sister, Sally Ross, of Staples; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Dorothy Trana; brother-in-law, Mike Reger; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Blondina, Caroline, Darlene, and Betty; and brother, Mike.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples.
