Barbara Mesenbrink

Barbara M. Mesenbrink, 73, of Crosslake, died Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, July 10, 2015 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Rochester with Pastor Susan Li officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services. Interment will take place at Mount Olive Columbarium.

Barbara was born November 24, 1941 in Holloway, MN, the daughter of Reinhart and Sophie (Schuerman) Koosman. She was raised in Holloway and in 1960 graduated from high school. In March of 1962, she married Robert Mesenbrink and the couple started their life in Minneapolis for a short time before moving to Boise, ID. They returned to Minnesota in 1979, first living in Eden Prairie, and then settling in Rochester in 1981. Barbara worked for 32 years as a bookkeeper and office manager at Jim Whiting's Nursery and Garden Center. In 2014, they moved to Crosslake, MN.

Barb's passion in life was her family. She loved to watch her grandchildren at their school functions or sporting events. She also liked to make sure they were well-fed - she was always cooking for them. Her job suited her well, as flowers and gardening were something she enjoyed. Barbara enjoyed reading and looked forward to family fishing trips in the motorhome to Leech Lake.

She will be missed by her husband, Bob, of Crosslake; children, Brad (Rebecca) Mesenbrink, of Crosslake, Dan (Teresa) Mesenbrink, of Oakdale, and Kristy (Kelly) McGee, of Rochester; grandchildren, Austin, Dylan, Kyle, Amanda, James, and Brandon; and her siblings, Ron (Diane) Koosman, of Watertown, SD, Evelyn Begley, of Broomfield, CO; and Judy (Jack Sexton) Koosman, of Plymouth, MN.
