Avis Chase

Avis Ann Chase, 84, of Aitkin, Minnesota died Tuesday November 5, 2019. A visitation will be 5-7 PM Friday, November 8, 2019 at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Heritage Assembly of God, Aitkin Campus, with an additional visitation one hour prior.

Avis was born August 26, 1935 to Howard and Evelyn (Ostberg) Malueg, in Minneapolis. She moved to Palisade where she then married her husband George, in 1977. The couple moved to Aitkin in 1979. Avis was a volunteer for the National & Community Service and received several awards for her meaningful contributions. Avis was an avid reader. She also enjoyed watching TV, especially her favorites, Star Trek and Gilligan’s Island. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.

Avis is survived by her son, Barry Malueg (Sylvia Porter) of Merrifield; grandson Dustin Schultz; siblings Eilleen Johnson of Springfield, MO, and Marjorie Smith of Kellyville, OK.

Avis is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Evelyn Malueg; husband George; siblings Vaughn Malueg and Darlene Toutges.
