Audrey Shew

Audrey Shew, 93, of Brainerd, passed away Friday, December 10, 2010 at Good Samaritan Village - Bethany. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd with Pastor Rory Swenson officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services and stay for a luncheon following. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd. Memorials preferred to Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd.

Audrey was born November 10, 1917 in Huron, SD, the daughter of Claude and Lettie (Anderson) Butcher. She and her family moved to the Brainerd area and she graduated from Brainerd High School in 1937. Audrey was united in marriage to Harvey Shew in April of 1942. She dedicated over 40 years working for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.

Audrey was a member of Park United Methodist Church. She was a collector of Hummels and enjoyed working and adding on to her rock garden. She liked to entertain and play bridge. Audrey loved her family and enjoyed spending her time with them, especially her grandchildren.

She will be missed by her daughter, Cheri (Dick Lyscio) Drake, of Brainerd; grandchildren, Melissa (Greg) Hannah, Kevin (Erica) Drake, Courtney Drake, and Ashley Drake; great-grandchildren, Madison, Gabrielle, Griffen, Cooper, and Anika; and her sister, Thyes Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; parents, Claude and Lettie; brothers, Lester, Don and Claude; and sisters, Frances and LaVonne.
