Audrey Evanson

Audrey M. Evanson, age 78, of Brainerd died Saturday, March 03, 2007 at her home. Memorial services will be Wednesday, March 7, at 2 pm, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brainerd, with the Rev. David Holte officiating. Private interment will be at a later date. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Childrens Center or to Good Samaritan Hospice.
Audrey Maxine Robinson was born March 10, 1928 in Lake Hattie Township, to Leonard and Larna OpalRobinson. She graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1946, and from Bemidji State Teachers College in 1950. Throughout her career she taught chemistry, biology, physics, and math to junior and senior high school students in Warroad, Bagley, Brainerd, and, for eighteen years, in Pillager. She was united in marriage to Chellis N. Evanson, Jr. on August 19, 1952. Audrey was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She volunteered at Trinity Childcare Center every Monday for fifteen years, and was affectionately known as Grandma Audrey.She was also active in the quilters club and church circle. Audrey and Chellis enjoyed spending 25 summers at their cabin in Crosslake, and 14 winters in Arizona. Following retirement, Audrey and Chellis traveled extensively, visiting most of the United States and 18 foreign countries. She also enjoyed sewing, golfing, and bird watching. In all her roles she was noted for her friendly smile and willingness to help others.

Audrey is survived by Chellis, her husband of 54 years; her daughter, Kay Evanson, Eau Claire, WI; her granddaughter, Kara Baumgarten, Menomenie, WI; and her siblings, Donald (Verona) Robinson, Spooner, WI, Carolyn (Theodore) Berkland, B Grantsberg, WI, and Kenneth (Susanne) Robinson, Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dale Robinson. Services entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
