Arthur Schuster

Arthur Schuster, age 88, of Pine River, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at his home. He was born February 14, 1920 in Pine River to William and Mary Schuster. He married Ruth Holp in 1976.
Art served in the US Army during World War II and was stationed in the Pacific theatre under General MacArthur. He was employed by Potlatch Company in Brainerd until his retirement in 1976. He loved fishing, gardening, playing cribbage, and was known for his kindness and generosity.
He is survived by his brother, Ray Schuster of Hastings; sister, Donna Watson (Derald) of Brainerd; sisters-in-law, Lois Schuster and Doris Schuster both of Pine River; stepson, John Holp (Marlys) of Maryland; special friends, Al and Barb Brunsberg of Pine River; many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruth, brothers, Bill and Ken, and sister-in-law, Betty Schuster.
Memorials may be sent to the St. Joseph's Hospice Program.
Services will be 11 AM on Saturday, October 25 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Pine River, with Father Bruce Engen officiating. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Pine River. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 PM with rosary at 7:30, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
