Arthur Matich, 73, of Brainerd, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at St. Joseph's Medical Center. Services for Arthur will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, October 8 at Riverside Union Church in Brainerd. Friends are welcome to gather Thursday evening from 5-7 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Private family interment.
Arthur was born July 15, 1937 in Brainerd, the son of Jake and Amanda (Johnson) Matich. Arthur was raised and lived in Brainerd all his life. He farmed, worked at the paper mill and was also a truck driver later in life. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, and gardening. He loved making wine and drinking Schmidt Beer. His family and friends will remember him as a person full of kindness who would do anything for anyone and was loved by all.
He will be missed by his wife of 52 years, Myra; mother, Amanda; his children, Perry (Kris) Matich and their family Amy (Brad) Eigenheer and Michael (Annette) Matich, Larry Matich, Terry Matich, and Patrick (Lynae) Matich and their family Hannah and Emilee, and Lori (William) Albrecht and their family Makayla, Sadie, and soon to be William Arthur; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Logan, children, of Mike and Annette; sisters, Mable Anderson and Myrt Gnahn; brothers, Jim (Beverly) Matich, John Matich, and Donald (Wendy) Matich; and many nieces and nephews.
