Arthur Lanske

Arthur Lanske, 91, of Staples, MN passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples, MN. Services for Arthur will be 11:00AM, Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Staples with Pastor Robin Collins officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7PM, Tuesday, September 13 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, with a prayer service at 6:40PM, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment with Military Honors will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples, MN.

Arthur was born December 15, 1924 in Terrace, MN to Anton and Anna Marie (Bunn) Lanske. His family moved to the Staples, MN area when he was young and he attended country school. Arthur worked as a logger for a time before he was united in marriage to Rosella "Rose" Erickson on May 16, 1953. He then worked for the railroad as a switchman/brakeman for 33 years, retiring in the 1980's. Rose died in 2007. Arthur enjoyed tearing down old houses, smelting, ice fishing, sanding decoys for Jeff, and working in his business.

Arthur is survived by his children, Loretta (Steve) Scribner of Staples, Loren Lanske of Staples, Regina (Donald) Tichy of Pillager, Laura Lanske of Staples; step son, Kim (Diane) VanVickle of Arden Hills, MN; four grandchildren, Sherry Scribner, Eric Tichy, Jeff Scribner, Tina (Robert) Ames; five step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, Hunter Scribner, Jeff Scribner, Jr, Calvin, Gracie, Abigail and Addison Ames, Hadley Guderian; siblings, Raymond Lanske of Puyallup, WA, Clara (Donnie) Coleman of FL. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose; siblings, August, Julius, Mary, Agnes, Tony, Martha, Otto, Anne and Adolph. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
