Arthur Holth

September 20, 1920 — March 20, 2006

Arthur T. Holth was born on September 20, 1920, in Fairdale, ND, the son of Olaf and Bertha (Swenneby) Holth. He was called from this life Monday evening, at the age of 85 years and 6 months.
Arthur was born and raised in Fairdale, ND. After high school, he entered the Army Air Corps in 1942, serving in North Africa and Italy until the end of the war. He then attended Dunwoody Institute receiving training in building and construction. Following his schooling he went to work as an independent contractor doing home construction and carpentry work in Minneapolis. On May 23, 1947, he was united in marriage to Lucille Hansen at Salem English Lutheran in Minneapolis. Arthur and Lucille were able to share 42 years of marriage together before she died in 1989. In 1948 they built a home in Minnetonka, residing there for 32 years. In 1964 they purchased land in the Crosslake area and built a home; which became their permanent residence in 1980. Arthur continued building and carpentry work until retiring in 1982, at which time he did carpentry work on a part-time basis. Among the things Arthur enjoyed were fishing and hunting, including many fishing trips to Canada.

Arthur was a member of Crosslake Lutheran Church and the Crosslake/Fifty Lakes American Legion Post 500.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Olaf and Bertha; his wife, Lucille; brothers, Clifford, Richard, and Orvie; and a sister, Gladys. Arthur is mourned in passing by his children, Robert, Kansas City, MO, and Marcia (Jack) Prescott, Minnetonka; 3 grandchildren, Reid and Neil Johnston, and Ann Prescott; brother, Palmer Holth; sisters-in-law, Betty and Evelyn Holth; and 10 nieces and nephews.
