Arnold Olson

Arnold Olson, 68, of Motley, died Saturday, July 16, 2011 at his home. Memorial Services for Arnold will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services and also stay for a luncheon following services at the Brenny Reception Room.

Arnold was proceeded in death by Martin Olson (father), Betty (sister), Bill (brother), Dennis (brother), Lee (sister). Survived by wife Shirley (Gangestad) Olson, children Wanda Lane (Jim), Scott Groshong (Missy), Lacey Olson (Jason), Grandchildren Cody Groshong, Riley Groshong, Justin Lane, Myleigh & Arynne Wickham, mother Dorothy (Groshong) Olson, Siblings Gerald Olson, Debra Miller, Shirley Berry (Jack), Brenda Johnson, Martin Olson (Theresa), Bernadine Paul (Todd), Gary Olson ( Laura) & nieces & nephews.

Arnie "Big A" was born in Lakeview, MN on 10/12/42. Arnie moved to Washington for a period of time and returned to Brainerd in 1984. Arnie & Shirley married in Laverne, MN. Lacey Rae was born to Arnie and Shirley in 1986. Arnie lived on the Crow Wing River allowing him to do what he loved most; fishing & hunting & spoiling his grandchildren. Arnie loved his family and friends, never failing to put a smile on your face by cracking a joke or telling a story. No one ever had to wonder what he was thinking for Arnie always told it how it was with his one-of-a-kind vocabulary!
