He was in the Battle of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge as these operations took him across France, Belgium and into Germany. Arnold came back to Pequot Lakes after the war to again work on the Dirk's farm and marry Martha Dirks.
Arnold and Martha had two sons, Allen V Hall (Laurie) and Bob Hall (Joy) They purchased and lived on the farm across the road from the Dirk's farm raising their sons and doing some farming. Arnold worked in the mines in Northern MN and also worked in Pine River at the Durkee Manufacturing Company for a number of years before retiring.
