Armanda Skinner

Armanda “Mandy” Jo Skinner, 56, of Brainerd, died at her home Sunday, November 19, 2017. A Celebration of Mandy’s Life will be held in Spring 2018.

Mandy was born September 11, 1961, in Goldendale, WA, the daughter of Oscar and Zella (Glover) Rono. The family moved to Minnesota and Mandy grew up in the Pine River area and graduated from Backus High School in 1979. She continued her education and earned an Associate of Arts Degree. Mandy loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them – especially babysitting all of the children. She was very skilled in crafts and liked to crochet, quilt, cross-stitch and embroider. She also liked to cook.

She will be missed by her son, Cameron (Trish) Gabert, of Brainerd; siblings, Tammy Burnett, of Pine River, Oscar Rono, of Backus, Robert Rono, of Mexica, TX, Jacqueline Rondoni, of Rushmore, Justine Larsen, of East Bethel, Martha Grosskreutz, of Brainerd, and Jerome Eibes, of East Bethel; many, many nieces and nephews; and her beloved companion for the last year, Jazzy – a personality filled pure white cat whom brought much comfort to Mandy. She was preceded in death by her young daughter, Dena Jo and her parents, Oscar and Zella.
