Arlene Tofstad

Arlene B. Tofstad, age 78, of Pine River, went to be with the Lord Sunday, September 28, 2014, at Essentia St. Joseph's Medical Center, Brainerd. She was born June 23, 1936, in Rushford, MN, to Ole and Bertha (Halvorson) Tofstad. She grew up in Winona, MN, and lived many years in St. Paul Park, MN, before moving to Pine River, MN. Arlene worked at the Cherokee Sirloin Room and Manor Supper Club in St. Paul for many years and recently worked at ALCO in Pine River since they had opened. Arlene enjoyed fishing, gardening and crocheting and loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.

Arlene is survived by her son, David Gile (Theresa); grandchildren: Tony Gile (Ashley), Andrew Gile, Monica Lindquist (Corey Farrell), Jennifer Gile (Darrin Dropps), Brennan Gile (Kati Neisess); great grandchildren: Bailey, Jacob, Dawson, Hunter, Asher, Teagan, Wyatt; daughter-in-law, Karen Horgus (Bill); nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Frank Bednarski.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Searle Tofstad, Caroll Tofstad; sister, Shirley Pippenger; son, Dennis Gile; and great grandson, Gage Dropps.

Services will be 6 PM on Thursday, October 2, at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
