Anthony Murphy

Anthony TonyMurphy, age 37, of Brainerd died Monday, October 1, 2007 at his home. Funeral services will be Friday, October 5, at 2 pm, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Friends may visit prior to services, from noon until 2 pm. Services will be followed by cremation, with burial in Emily. Anthony James Murphy was born March 25, 1970 in Minneapolis, to Ronald and Carol (Cook) Murphy. He moved with his family to Brainerd in 1979 and, later, to Outing. He graduated from Remer High School in 1988. He loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He appreciated rock and heavy metal music and he played the guitar. He enjoyed sports, including camping, fishing, hockey and football. He was a loyal Vikings fan, even when the team wasnt performing well. Tony is survived by Karli, his beloved wife of 15 years; his mother, Carol Murphy-Smrt, of Ironton; his children, Britny Murphy, of Aitkin, Allison Murphy, of Aitkin, Jenna Murphy, of Brainerd, and Shaun Murphy, of Brainerd; a granddaughter, MaryJayne Murphy; a sister, Latisha Whipple, of Ironton; two nieces and one nephew.
