Anthony Maucieri, Sr.

Anthony Phillip Maucieri, Sr., 80, of Crosslake, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 10 at Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Crosslake. Family and friends are invited to gather Friday evening from 4-7 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake and one hour prior to Mass on Saturday at the church. Interment will follow at Pinewood Cemetery. A Celebration of Anthony’s life will follow at Maucieri’s in Crosslake.

Born April 4, 1937 in Chicago, IL, Anthony was the oldest of Nicholas and Joanna (Maduri) Maucieri’s six children. After school, he served in the US Army. In 1957, he married Joan Palinsky. The couple moved to Minnesota in 1974 when they purchased Echo Ridge Resort Restaurant which they operated for 44 years. Anthony sold Echo Ridge in 2000 and started Maucieri’s in 2005. He was a member of the Crosslake American Legion, Post #500 as well as the Crosslake Lions. He was also a member of Immaculate Heart Catholic Church. He was passionate about family, friends, food, cooking, and a little gambling on the side. In addition, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Anthony especially loved cooking with them and watching their sporting events.

He will be missed by his daughter, Dawn Maucieri; son, Anthony, Jr. (Kara) Maucieri; significant other, Lynnda Buck; grandchildren, Anthony Jordan, Joshua, and Easton; sister-in-law, Sherry Wrobel; nephew, Ricky (Heidi) Wrobel; and siblings, Larry, Phillip, Marilyn, Ralph, and Maria. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan and his parents.
