Anna Sheldon

Anna Mae Sheldon, age 76, of Brainerd, died Saturday morning at her home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter. Interment will be in Our Savior?s Lutheran Cemetery at Pequot Lakes, MN. Friends may call from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday at the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter and for one hour prior to Services on Tuesday.
Anna Mae Sheldon was born on January 18, 1929, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Averett and Anna (Sunken) Wessles. She was called from this life Saturday morning, Feb. 12, 2005, at her home in Brainerd. She had attained the age of 76 years and 24 days.

She grew up near Iowa Falls, IA, and attended school there. After her schooling she did housekeeping for a number of local families. On April 19, 1947, she was united in marriage to Albert Sheldon in Fairmont, MN. To this union 6 children were born. Anna and Albert were able to share over 57 years of marriage together. After their marriage the couple lived on the family farm where Anna was a helpmate and homemaker. Recently they moved to the Brainerd area.

Anna was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes and in her earlier years she was actively involved in many of the church groups. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, and was a very talented seamstress. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Averett and Anna; 2 brothers, Everett and Suet; and 2 sisters, Lena and Pauline. She is mourned in passing by her husband, Albert of Brainerd; children, Lanita Valchar of Alvin, TX, Linda (Bill) O?Brien of Aloha, OR, Michael (Barbara) Sheldon of Owatonna,, MN, Allan (Margaret Pederson) of New London, MN, Jeff (Shelly) Sheldon of Cohasset, MN, and Angela (Larry) Tolman of Solway, MN; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great, grandchildren.
