Anna Maske

Anna J. Maske, age 89, of Brainerd, formerly of Pequot Lakes, died early Sunday morning, at the Bethany Good Samaritan Village. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, December 29, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter with Pastor Frank Milo officiating. Interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Friends may call beginning at 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
Anna Josephine Maske was born on September 5, 1917, in Glenwood City, WI, the daughter of Ole and Ruth (Steihaug) Olson. She grew up and graduated from high school in Glenwood City, WI. On December 6, 1937, she was united in marriage to Lyle H. Maske at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church at Minneapolis. After their marriage the couple moved to many different parts of the United States, finally settling back in Minnesota. For several years she was a cook at Rice Elementary School in Rice, MN. In 1972 they moved to Breezy Point and then near Pequot Lakes. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, loved to hike and read, did sewing projects for the State Hospital, and got her Minnesota State Drivers License at age 71. She has spent the past 2 years as a resident of Bethany Good Samaritan Village.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Ruth; her husband, Lyle; her son, Robert; her grandson, Tom; two brothers, Phillip and Donald; and three sisters, Gertrude Skomsvold, Doris House, and Ruby Fitzgerald. She is mourned in passing by her children, Linda (Gerald) Sutch, of Centrialia, WA, John (Yvonne) Maske, of Brainerd, and James Maske of St. Cloud; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Amy (Jack) Canfield of Minneapolis; and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Maske of Rice, MN.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
