Ann Greig

Ann M. Greig, age 89, of Motley, passed away at the Lakewood Health System Hospital on Sunday, March 2, 2008 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church of Motley with Reverend Dorothy J. Bull officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 -7 at the Brenny Funeral Home of Staples. Interment will be at Motley Public Cemetery in the Spring.
Ann was born on October 1, 1918 to Herman and Augusta (Boeder) Schumann in Meeker County, Minnesota. In 1939 she met and married Leroy S. Greig and they eventually settled in Motley in 1946 where they raised four children. Ann was a very active participant in the local community, a charter lioness, and great supporter and member of the Motley United Methodist Church.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy S. Greig; one grandson, Jeffery K. Fahnlander; one son-in-law, Donn Peck and eleven brothers and sisters. Anna is survived by four children, Leroy L (Janet) and John R. (Debbie), Greig of Motley; Shirley A. Peck of Oakdale, MN, and Mary J. (Jamie) Fahnlander of Tacoma, WA; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren, and one brother, R (Bud) Schumann of Dassel, MN.

Ann was a very kind and gentle woman who was loved and cherished by all who knew her. She enjoyed caring for others whether family or friends and always found time to lend a helping hand.
