Andrus Severson

Andrus AndyJullien Severson, 91, of Baxter, died Monday, January 21, 2008 at his home. Funeral Services for Andy will be Monday, January 28 at 1:00 PM at the Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, MN with visitation starting at 11:00 AM. Andy was born October 24, 1916 to Helge and Clara (Hanson) Severson in the Austin, MN area. He farmed with his dad and at 17 stated working at Hormel as a laborer. He worked there for 43 years. He married Esther Borgesen August 3, 1940 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. In 1944 Andy served during WWII on the aircraft carrier, USS Point Cruise. He enjoyed volunteering at the Austin Senior Citizen Center where he also served on the Board. He was a long time member of the St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the American Legion. He was a devoted husband and the most wonderful daddy and everyone who knew him loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Esther; his three devoted daughters, Ann (Virg) Lundberg, Terry (Dick) Bakke, and Kim (Dwayne) Walker; his six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marion Waldron, of Austin and Phyllis Stellmaker, of Minneapolis-St. Paul Area. Andy was preceded in death by four children, Richard, Andy, Troilee, and Jean Kay; his grandson Tait Bakke; and his parents.
