Andrea Lynn Schmidt, 50, of Nisswa, MN passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.  She was born July 9, 1969 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Debra Lee Halverson. Andrea graduated Frank B. Kellogg High School in Little Canada, MN in 1987 and worked for Viking Label & Packing in Nisswa, MN for over 25 years. Andrea met Todd Thomsen at Viking Label & Packing and in 1999 they began raising their family together for over 20 years.

Andrea was a very social person and family was very important to her. She was always so excited when her son Cole would come home from North Dakota. Andrea enjoyed playing golf and Farkle with her sisters-in-law, Heather Mills and Ember Hestrin and niece Whitney Thomsen, playing 10,000 with the Halverson family and playing Pig Races at The Pickle Factory in Nisswa. Andrea was also a big animal lover. She especially loved her cats and her grandpups.

Andrea is survived by her partner, Todd Thomsen of Nisswa, MN; her children: Cole (Nikki) Schmidt of Carrington, ND, Shale (Emmie) Schmidt of Coon Rapids, MN, Alex (Athena) Thomsen of Brainerd, MN, Miranda Thomsen of Brainerd, MN; her grandmother, Hazel Rowe of Ideal Corners, MN; her uncles, Brian (Debbie) Halverson of Pequot Lakes, MN, Michael (Kathy) Halverson of Brainerd, MN; cousins: Michele (Jarad) Halverson of St. Michael, MN, Erika (Kevin) Zetah of Stone Lake, WI, Krystal Halverson of Brainerd, MN, Holly Halverson of Chicago, IL; her niece Whitney Thomsen of Pequot Lakes, MN; her nephews, Nate (Kristina) Noyes of Lakeshore, MN, Taylor Noyes of Duluth, MN; her grandchildren, Hazel, Michael, Wyatt, Hunter; her great nieces: Murraye, Ayla, Emyliah, Kaylee, Khloe; her grandpups, Brienne and Ryder; and many other family members.

Andrea is preceded in death by her mother, Debra Lee Halverson; her grandfather, Charles Halverson; and her uncle, Jeffery Halverson.

A celebration of life will be held for both Andrea and her grandmother, Hazel Rowe, at 1 PM on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at the Jenkins Cemetery with cookies and coffee following at the American Legion in Pequot Lakes.
