Amelia Mary Rittle was born on November 23, 1923, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of John and Mary (Queleza) Parovan. In August of 1930 her mother passed away and she took over caring for her father and younger brother, Mario. During this time she held numerous jobs, working for the Grennan Bakery, a spring company and a screw manufacturing company. While working for the screw manufacturing company she opened up a grocery store. She often said she went to the screw manufacturing company to rest. She ran the grocery store for about three years until Mario married, she then closed it down. Following this she went to work for GMAC where she stayed until she retired in 1972.
She met and married Wilbert Rittle in Illinois and shortly thereafter they bought a home on the lake and retired here. Among the things she enjoyed was cooking, fishing, reading and traveling as long as she was able. She also enjoyed entertaining and having people stop to visit. She spent the last two and a half years at the Care Center in Crosby.
Amelia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary; husband Wilbert; sister, Mary Parovan; step-daughter, Marylynne Rittle Glade; sister-in-law, Dorothy Trinco Parovan; and nephew, Richard Parovan.
